Valcin Makes JuCo Nationals

With the Region VI/Jayhawk Conference Championships less than two weeks away, the Cowley College men and women’s track and field teams continue to post impressive performances leading up to the big meet. The majority of the Tiger squads competed at the Central Missouri State Relays on Friday and Saturday in Warrensburg, MO.

The Central Missouri meet is considered to be one of the toughest small college meets in the Midwest. At the meet, the Tiger men were led by Josh Phillips, who won his second meet of the year by clearing 15'7" inches in the pole vault. St Lucian sophomore Rick Valcin and Cody Rosson also surpassed national qualifying marks in the pole vault and finished tied for fourth after clearing 4.45m (14'7.25").

“All three vaulters are proof that if you do the work you will get the results,” Cowley head coach Mark Phillips said.
