Taurai Augustin Earns Academic Honour Again

Philadelphia, Pa. - Holy Cross University junior Taurai Augustin (Castries, Saint Lucia/St. Mary's College Secondary School) was named the recipient of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Top XV Award for men's cross country as announced by the conference office at the conclusion of this year's men's cross country championship this past Sunday.

Augustin, who earned the same honor at the 2016 CACC Outdoor Track & Field Championship, became the first Tigers student-athlete to earn the honor in multiple sports. Former women's soccer standout Jenna Richards is the only other student-athlete to receive the CACC Top XV Award that she won in the award's inaugural year back in 2013.

Augustin, a biology major, has a cumulative grade point average of 4.0 in his second season as a member of the Holy Family cross country team. He is also a member of the men's track & field team and will be beginning his third season later in December.

Augustin finished 19th overall in this year's conference championship as he finished the 8k-course in a time of 29:08.7. He improved on last year's 29th place showing by nearly 47 seconds (29:55.2).
