Choiseul are the 2016 Saint Lucia National Cricket Association Twenty20 Cup Champions.
Led by the tournament's Most Valuable Player, and tournament's top wicket taker, Vince Smith, Choiseul beat Central Castries by seven wickets, albeit on Duckworth-Lewis. The west coast / capital city clash took place on Sunday evening at the Phillip Marcellin Ground
Central Castries made 104 all out in 18.2 overs. Smith took his tournament tally to 12 wickets, with a haul of four for 24 in the final. Valange St Ange added two wickets for just 11 runs. The Prospere boys, Loic and Alvin, made 26 and 24 for the city team.
With their innings reduced to 11 overs after two rain interruptions, Choiseul needed 63 to win. They needed but 8.3 overs and lost only three wickets in achieving that target, Junior Henry making 24 and captain Audy Alexander unbeaten on 12, as Alleyne Prospere took 2-16.
Smith was adjudged Man of the Match, as he had been in the semifinal.
Other tournament awards included Laborie's Sabinus Emmanuel topping the run scorers with 236; Collinus Callender of South Castries with eight catches, Jason Simon of Choiseul with nine dismissals from behind the stumps, and Central Castries' Stephen Naitram with 14 sixes.
Soufriere's Keither Prospere had the highest individual score of 97, whilst Soufriere's 223/6 against Vieux Fort South was the tournament's biggest team total. Mabouya Valley's Dishon Rampal (5-14) had the best bowling performance, and Valange St Ange the fastest 50.
In a veterans exhibition match, 16 overs a side, there were fireworks. Southern Veterans made 132/5, Garvin Serieux Sr with 91 from 49 balls, including six sixes. John Eugene took 2-18. Northern Veterans got 61 from Eugene, but fell 15 runs short at 117/6.
