Wins For Phoenix, LCV, Jet Setters In BOSL Guy Brown Volleyball


Saturday October 22nd, 2016 saw two female matches taking place at two different venues allowing volleyball supporters in the north and south to enjoy a weekend a volleyball action.

At Micoud Phoenix 758 Volleyball Club showing their new kits took on Le Club Volleyball team 2 coached by Le Club veteran female player Samantha Mann. Phoenix 758 Volleyball Club seemed to have shrugged off the effects of the debutante game and came out firing against Le Club 2. Led by windward island games player Asha Hunte, Phoenix 758 Volleyball raced to a two sets to love lead, winning the opening games 25-17, 25-21, clearly showing that were were ready to compete in this year's league.

Whether a case of bad coaching or Le Club 2 settling down. Le Club team 2 captained by national under 23 player Kate Gaillard stormed back winning sets 3 and 4 (25-17), (25-16). This set up the final set in which Phoenix 758 Volleyball secured their first win for the season prevailing 15-4.

At the same time up at the Vide Bouteille secondary school, Dig Set Point (DSP) played host to Le Club Volleyball Team 1. This game featured the two last female National League Champions. Le Club Volleyball Team 1 proved to be the better team winning the encounter 25-19, 25-18, 25-18

Sunday 23 October 2016, saw all games being held at the Vide Bouteille Secondary School grounds. Jet Setters Volleyball Club playing host to the visiting teams.

In the opening match Jet Setters ladies played host to Le Club Team 3 coached by Le Club stalwartand coach Florian Combie. Jet Setter Female once again are showing that they are the odds on favourite to hoist this year's trophy. In dominating style Jet setters thrashed Le Club team 3 (25-7),( 25-8),( 25-15). Led by National female setter Cindy Wilson, Jetsetters female team have crushed their two first round opponents. The inclusion of the members of the ECVA winning under 23 team has Jetsetters setting themselves up for a great run in years to come.

The game of the evening was the men's match up between Le Club men and Jet Setters men. A tale of the current dominant national male champions and the Champion Club. Jet Setters through their strong serving and blocking led by National player both indoor and beach Joseph Clercent showed that Jet Setters name may just be engraved on the League trophy. The final scores 25-19, 25-20,25-18. Le Club male team did their club proud and the game was one of pure excitement with powerful hits and blocks. Levi Leonce and A Marquis national under 23 players are clearly leaving their mark on this year's tournament.
