Scheper Enjoys Successful Gamecock Debut

BLACKSBURG, Va. - South Carolina freshman Jeannelle Scheper enjoyed a strong opening week of collegiate athletics competition, claiming second in the High Jump at 1.69m (5'6.5") and 21st in the long jump at 5.18m (17'0") Saturday as the Gamecocks got into action at the Hokie Invitational at the Rector Field House.

In the high Jump, an event in which she commanded an under-17 bronze medal for St Lucia at the 2010 CARIFTA Games with a clearance of 1.68m, Scheper and Staley Foster each cleared the top bar but took second and third on attempts.
