Northwest Nazarene Track & Field competed at the Bronco open this weekend as they continue to tune up to host the GNAC championships in two weeks. Coaches and athletes are starting to see results on the track as all the hard work from the Fall takes shape.
One of the Crusader performances that stood above the rest this weekend was Christabel Leonce breaking the school record in the women's 60m.
The sophomore from Castries, St Lucia darted to a school record of 8.00 seconds in the 60 meters just shaving .01 seconds of the previous record held by teammate Melissa Grammer set in 2010 at 8.01. Christabel was previously sitting in 2nd place all time in the 60m behind Grammer at 8.02.
The question seems to be “who will break 8 seconds first?” Hopefully that question will be answered in the next two weekends and the only thing left to determine will be “who is it and by how much?” For now, Leonce holds the title of NNU's fastest woman.
You go girl!! SHINE FOR CHRIST
